What is the first thing people usually do when they buy a brand new appliance or electronic device? Its safe to say that the first thing a wise person would do is read the instructions on how to use the device. So what about the most advanced mechanism on the planet, the brain? Unfortunately, after birth, a manual does not follow. NLP is making an elegant approach at identifying the most seemingly basic functions of the brain apparent, to more advanced functions and capabilities, as well as a continuous evolution of what is possible.

What is a basic function of the brain anyway? For starters, are we aware of the pictures we create? How about the size and location of the picture? Have you noticed that people look up when they’re creating or remembering an image? Even in the old movies from the 50s, the young Audrey Hepburn would look up and say, “I can see us now, growing old together and living happily ever after…” These are things that most observers missed, and Richard Bandler noticed.

Submodalities and Eye Accessing Cues are some of the basic examples of NLP, although they do enter the advanced realm of the training. NLP has been defined in many different ways such as:

A Model of Excellence, the ability to differentiate between average and excellent results

The ability to alter your state of Consciousness to produce the most and long-lasting change

The Users Manual for the Brain

It is also a guide to notice how our Nervous System (Neuro) is affected by the language we use (Linguistic) to create our Unconscious Programs (Programming). Almost everywhere, anyone working in the area of healing, Psychology and Neuro-Science, are beginning to accept the fact that the Mind-Body work together as a whole. The more we learn about this, the more we become whole ourselves.
